Biography

Henry was the son of Hen­ry Carl­ton Fair­bank.

He gra­du­at­ed from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Mi­chi­gan. For ma­ny years, he head­ed the mu­sic de­part­ment at Chi­ca­go Nor­mal Col­lege.

He al­so owned a farm on the Rich­mond road just east of Sau­ga­tuck, Mi­chi­gan.

The Mu­sic News, Vol­ume 11, num­ber 12 (Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois: May 30, 1913), page 7, stat­ed Fair­bank and El­sie Jan­et French had col­la­bo­rat­ed on the song Hum­ming­bird, which was to be per­formed at the Chicago Sun­day School As­so­cia­tion’s an­nu­al con­cert.

The ar­ticle men­tioned The Sol­dier Lov­er and Peace to the World as other com­po­si­tions by these co-work­ers.
