Biography

Feith was born in­to an aris­to­cra­tic fa­mi­ly, the on­ly son of Pie­ter Feith and El­sa­be Spaar.

He was edu­cat­ed at Har­der­wijk, and stu­died law at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Leiden (1769–70), where he took his de­gree af­ter on­ly one year.

He mar­ried Ockje Groe­ne­veld in Ween­er, Ger­ma­ny, in No­vem­ber 1772 and set­tled in Zwolle. From 1773–90, they had at least 10 child­ren.

In 1780, Feith be­came bur­go­mas­ter of Zwolle.

Feith’s works were col­lect­ed in 1824 (Rot­ter­dam, 11 vol­umes), with a bio­gra­phi­cal no­tice by N. G. van Kamp­en.
