Albert was the son of Seth Fisher and Lucy A. Lamb, and husband of Ethel S. Knight (married June 25, 1908, Parker, Texas).
He attended Fort Worth University and Polytechnic College, Fort Worth, Texas; Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee; Southern Methodist University; and earned his Doctor of Divinity degree at Asbury College (now Asbury University), Wilmore, Kentucky.
He moved to Fort Worth in 1908, and for a decade was a general evangelist for the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. In World War I, he served as a military chaplain.
After the war, he worked in the East Oklahoma Conference and (starting in 1944), the North Texas Conference.
