Buried: Green­wood Ce­me­te­ry, La­grange, In­di­ana.

Biography

Joseph was the hus­band of Al­ice Smith (mar­ried Ju­ly 6, 1868, Che­sa­ning, Mi­chi­gan).

He emi­grat­ed to Am­er­ica at age 11.

During the Am­er­ican ci­vil war, he en­list­ed at age 16, and served in Com­pa­ny A, 18th Mi­chi­gan In­fan­try.

Later, he was a min­is­ter of the Church of the Liv­ing God for ma­ny years. He and his wife Ali­ce moved to La­grange, In­di­ana, in 1892.
