Biography

Educated at Bal­li­ol Col­lege, Ox­ford, Fletch­er served as as­sist­ant mas­ter at Rug­by School (1894–1903), master of Marl­bo­rough Col­lege (1903–11) (the first lay­man to hold that post), and head­mas­ter of Char­ter­house, Go­dalm­ing (1911–35).

He was knight­ed for his dis­ting­uished career.
