Biography

A Ro­man Ca­tho­lic priest, Franz was a hym­no­lo­gist and com­pil­er.

He stu­died in Glaz (now Kłodz­ko, Po­land), and Bres­lau, and served as chap­lain at Gross-Glo­gau (now Gło­gów, Po­land) (1753), arch­priest at Schla­wa (now Sła­wa, Poland), and as­ses­sor to the apos­tol­ic vi­car’s office in Bres­lau (1766).
