Biography

Franzèn stu­died theo­lo­gy in Tur­ku, Åbo Ak­a­de­mi (where he be­came Li­brar­i­an and Pro­fes­sor of Li­ter­ary His­to­ry), and lat­er in Up­psa­la, Swe­den.

In 1810, he moved to Swe­den, where he served pas­tor­ates at Kum­la, Or­e­bro, and San­ta Cla­ra, Stock­holm.

In 1834, he be­came bi­shop of Här­nö­sand. He al­so served as sec­re­tary of the Swed­ish Aca­de­my, and pub­lished a hym­nal to­ge­ther with Jo­han Wall­in.
