Died: 1681, Eisleben, Germany, of plague.
Herbst studied at the St. Lorenz School in Nuremberg, then read theology and philosophy at Altdorf and Jena.
He became rector of the Gymnasium in Eisleben in 1680, and later pastor of St. Andreas church there.
