Biography

Thomas was the bro­ther of hymn writ­er James Holme.

He was edu­cat­ed at the Gram­mar School of Ap­ple­by, and ob­tained or­ders from the Bi­shop of Dur­ham in 1816.

In 1822, he was ap­point­ed Mas­ter of the Gram­mar School of St. John Bap­tist, Kirk­by Ra­vens­worth. In 1822, he be­came vi­car of East Cow­ton, a post he held, it seems, the rest of his life.
