Biography

Horton, a min­is­ter, was the son of Hen­ry Vic­tor Hor­ton and So­phia Ma­til­da Dough­er­ty. He mar­ried twice, to An­na Lou­isa Kings­bu­ry (1873) and Har­ri­ett L. Ran­som (1922).

In 1908, Horton, Ly­man Stew­art (pre­si­dent of the Un­ion Oil Com­pa­ny of Ca­li­for­nia), and min­is­ter Au­gus­tus B. Prich­ard found­ed the Bi­ble In­sti­tute of Los An­ge­les (BIO­LA, now Bi­ola Uni­vers­ity).
