Biography

Daniel was the son of Hal­dor Iv­er­son and Ele­vi­ne Thors­ten, and hus­band of Vi­vi­an Fra­zier Thorpe.

He at­tend­ed the Uni­ver­si­ty of Georg­ia, Ath­ens; Moo­dy Bi­ble In­sti­tute, Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois; Co­lum­bia Theo­lo­gic­al Se­mi­na­ry, De­ca­tur, Georg­ia; and the Uni­ver­si­ty of South Ca­ro­li­na.

Ordained a Pres­by­ter­ian min­is­ter, he served in Geor­gia and South and North Ca­ro­li­na.

Iverson helped found the Shen­an­do­ah Pres­by­ter­ian Church in Mi­ami, Flo­ri­da, serv­ing there from 1927 to 1951, when he re­tired. As of 2024, the church build­ing was be­ing de­mol­ished.
