Biography

Jenkins en­tered Aber­yst­wyth Col­lege in 1874 and stu­died un­der Jo­seph Par­ry, chair of mu­sic at the Uni­ver­si­ty. He went on to st­udy at Cam­bridge, gra­du­at­ing in 1879.

He was much in evi­dence in the mu­sic­al life of Wales, and judged at the na­tion­al Eis­tedd­fod and pro­vin­cial Eis­tedd­fo­dau.

He ed­it­ed Y Cer­ddor (The Mu­si­cian) from 1888 un­til his death.
