Biography

Henry was the son of Hen­ry D. Low­ing & Nan­cy Jane Pierce, and husband of Eva Belle Dunbar (mar­ried 1897).

He was edu­cat­ed at the State Normal School in Ed­in­bo­ro, Penn­syl­van­ia, and the Penn­syl­van­ia In­sti­tute for the Blind in Phi­la­del­phia.

He be­gan com­pos­ing mu­sic in 1892, and taught vio­lin and di­rect­ed church choirs. Eva sang al­to and ac­com­pa­nied him on pi­ano and or­gan.

As of 1904, he was liv­ing in Lines­ville, Penn­syl­van­ia.
