Martin was or­gan­ist and choir­mas­ter at St. Chry­sos­tom’s Epis­co­pal Church, Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois (1896–1902), director of the Mu­sic­al Con­ser­va­to­ry of Whea­ton Col­lege.
