Anna was the daughter of Benjamin Munson and Mary Lawrence Sambell. She did not marry.
She taught school in the public schools of Brooklyn, New York, for 50 years, retiring in 1931.
She often visited Ocean Grove, New Jersey, where she was involved with the Women’s Christian Temperance Union.
In the last 20 years of her life, Munson began writing poetry. Her efforts were well received, and she got congratulatory letters from American presidents Roosevelt, Wilson, Harding, Coolidge and Hoover.
