Buried: Originally in Friedhof Jerusalem IV der Jerusalems-und Neuen Kirche, Kreuzberg, Berlin, Germany. Re-interred in 1925 in Vår Frelsers Gravlund, Oslo, Norway. His original grave marker still stands in Berlin.
Nordraak was a cousin of Norwegian writer and poet Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson.
He produced about 40 compositions during his short life. He is probably is best remembered as composer of the music for the Norwegian national anthem Ja, vi elsker dette landet (Yes, We Love This Country
).
