Biography

Dwight was the son of Ez­ra Dwight Pratt and An­na Au­rel­ia Rood.

He gra­du­at­ed from Will­is­ton Sem­in­ary, East­hamp­ton, Mas­sa­chu­setts (1870); Am­herst Col­lege (1876), and Hart­ford Theo­lo­gic­al Sem­in­ary (1880), and re­ceived a DD de­gree from Mar­i­et­ta Col­lege in 1901.

He was or­dained to the Con­gre­ga­tion­al min­is­try at Hig­ga­num, Con­nec­ti­cut in 1880, and served pas­tor­ates in:

Pratt served as state sec­re­ta­ry of the Ohio Con­gre­ga­tion­al Church Build­ing So­cie­ty (1900–14); field rep­re­sent­a­tive of the Pil­grim Me­mo­ri­al Fund for Ohio and Mi­chi­gan (1919); cor­por­ate mem­ber of the Am­eri­can Board of Com­mis­sion­ers for For­eign Mis­sions; field rep­re­sent­a­tive of Pied­mont Col­lege; trust­ee of Mi­a­mi Con­gre­ga­tion­al As­so­cia­tion; mo­der­at­or, Con­gre­ga­tion­al Con­fer­ence of Ohio (1904); di­rect­or, Con­gre­ga­tion­al Con­fer­ence of Ohio (1902–13); with the West­ern Tract So­cie­ty, Cin­cin­na­ti, Ohio (1909–12); and Lin­coln Me­mo­ri­al Uni­ver­si­ty, Har­ro­gate, Ten­nes­see (1907–09).
