Biography

Radford was the son of Ben­ja­min John­son Rad­ford and Fran­ces Tay­lor Law­rence, and hus­band of Rho­da Jane Ma­ga­ri­ty of Eu­re­ka (mar­ried No­vem­ber 15, 1864).

He was edu­cat­ed at Eu­re­ka Col­lege, Illinois (AB, 1866). This school was al­so the al­ma ma­ter of U.S. Pre­si­dent Ron­ald Rea­gan.

Radford was a min­is­ter, col­lege teach­er and ad­min­is­trat­or, and ed­it­or of re­li­gious jou­rnals. He pub­lished a book of his poe­ms in 1883.
