Biography

Woodie was the hus­band of Ada Eli­za­beth Bates (mar­ried 1899).

He pub­lished his first song in 1898, and went on to write hun­dreds of pieces. He was pas­tor or vi­si­tor at ma­ny churches in Tex­as through the years, fi­nal­ly mov­ing back to Fort Worth in 1935.
