Biography

Stott was the son of Will­iam Tay­lor Stott and Ar­a­bel­la Ruth Tra­cy, and hus­band of Is­a­bel Ed­na Por­ter.

He gra­du­at­ed from Frank­lin Col­lege in 1904, then at­tend­ed the Uni­ver­si­ty of Chi­ca­go.

He taught at Dru­ry Col­lege (1906) and the Mi­chi­gan Ag­ri­cul­tur­al Col­lege (1908–09); heade­d the English De­part­ment at East­ern Ken­tuc­ky State Teach­ers School (1910–16); and be­came a Ly­ce­um and Chau­tau­qua lec­tur­er in 1910.

As of 1920, Stott was liv­ing in John­son Coun­ty, In­di­ana.
