Biography

Though still in Not­ting­ham­shire as of 1891, Al­fred emi­grat­ed to Am­eri­ca as a child.

He gra­du­at­ed from North­west­ern Uni­ver­si­ty, Ev­an­ston, Il­li­nois, and was wide­ly known as the com­pos­er of the com­ic op­era The Sul­tan of S­ulu.

In 1911, he was choir­mas­ter and or­gan­ist at the Church of Our Sav­iour, Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois.

He was still in Chi­ca­go as of 1930.
