Be strong! the command still is ringing,
Be strong for the cares of the day;
Be strong to do right when temptations assail,
Be strong when the clouds dim the way.
Refrain
Be strong and heed the promise!
Fear not, but go forth undismayed;
Be strong, and of good courage;
Have faith! be not afraid.
Take courage! the world now is waiting
For men with the courage who dare
To stand for the right and to strike with their might
All evil which seeks to ensnare.
Refrain
Fear not, for God’s promise is for them
Who trust Him to guide every day;
His hand leads the way thro’ the darkness of night;
Trust Him, and no foe can dismay.
Refrain
Our God shall go with us, and guide us
In ways dark, or paths bright and clear;
Wherever we go, He will keep us from harm;
With Him there is nothing to fear.
