I bear with patience every care,
And watch and pray and wait;
For soon the life-crown I shall wear
Beyond the pearly gate.
Refrain
Beyond the beautiful gate above,
How happy I shall be;
At rest with Jesus and those I love,
For all eternity.
In vain the storms of life will sweep
Upon my trusting soul,
For I am sure the Lord will keep
And safely guide thru all.
Refrain
For me my friends in glory wait,
And soon I’ll cease to roam,
And meet them at the pearly gate
Of my eternal home.
Refrain
My soul is resting in His love,
And He will lead me right,
Till I am safe with Him above,
There life is sweet and bright.
