Lyrics

Awake, arise, and greet the morn
That fills the world with joy;
Let every heart o’erflow with song,
And praise each tongue employ.

Refrain

Praise the name of Jesus,
Blessèd name of Jesus,
Who hears us when we call;
Notes the soul’s petition,
Feels each heart’s contrition,
Whose blood was shed for all.

He comes, He comes, the Prince of peace!
On this triumphal day
To shed the light of hope divine,
And banish night for aye.

Refrain

He breaks the bonds of death in twain,
That hearts who own their king
Shall rise with Him, forevermore
His boundless love to sing.

Refrain

Ring on, ring on, ye silvery bells!
Peal forth the glad refrain;
Lo, He is risen who was dead!
Behold, He lives again!
