Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O Lord.
Psalm 70:1

Haste, O Lord, my spirit faints;
Hear my weak, but earnest plea:
Savior of Thy trembling saints,
Haste, O haste to rescue me!
Fierce and many on my soul
Rush the threatening powers of hell.
Roll them back, Redeemer, roll
As the rock the ocean’s swell.
Shame, confusion, fear and grief,
Visit, Lord, Thy foes alone!
Light, and comfort, and relief,
Beam for ever on Thine own!
Help the weak, the fallen raise;
Fill the meek with joy and love:
Guide us through this earthly maze;
Land us safe at last above.
