Father, let me feel Thy presence;
Come, dear Lord, abide with me,
I am thirsting for Thy guidance,
Let me daily walk with Thee.
Father, guide me, lest I perish,
Lead me, Jesus, evermore;
To the living fount of waters,
For my feet are bruised and sore.
Oft the ills of life o’erwhelm me
As I journey to that rest,
But sweet service I would render:
Come! Abide within my breast;
O, I hunger for Thee daily,
Cleanse my heart from crimson stain,
Wash me, and I shall be purer,
When Thou comest soon to reign.
Bring me to those heav’nly mansions,
May my name be there enthroned;
Let me walk with Thee, my Father,
Just as Enoch did of old.
Robe my heart as with a garment,
In Thy likeness evermore;
Lord, I hear Thee gently knocking—
I will open wide the door.
