This is my pray­er;
Nearer Thy bleed­ing side,
Kept by Thy care;

Throughout each day;
Teach how to keep Thy laws,

This is my plea;
Draw me, by love di­vine,
Nearer to Thee.

Fill this poor heart with love,
This tongue with praise;
So I may tell Thy pow­er,
Through all my days;
Daily my will and choice,
I would re­sign
Till all my life is lost,
Savior, in Thine.

Then, when Heav’n’s glo­ries burst
All on my sight,
When I be­hold the Lamb
Who is the light,
Then from my rap­tured heart
Will burst my plea,
