Lyrics

Oh, my Lord Jesus, if I did not have You,
Or if Your blood did not for sinners speak,
Where would my soul, least, and last, and lost,
Peace and forgiveness seek?

Where would my tears and sorrow find relief?
What other heart like Yours so full of love?
You are my confidence, You and You alone,
None other reigns above.

Had You not loved me first, before creation,
My stubborn heart would not have sought Your grace;
You searched me out, and in Your mercy took me
Into Your fond embrace.

Now, from the bottom of my soul I thank You,
For the eternal plan to give me rest,
Fellowship, life forever through the cross;
Your child is truly blessed.
