Biography

Helen was the daugh­ter of Ric­hard B. Cad­bu­ry and Em­ma Jane Wil­son, and wife of Charles Al­ex­an­der (mar­ried 1904), song lead­er for ev­an­gel­ist Reu­ben A. Tor­rey. Charles died in 1920, and she mar­ried Am­zi C. Dix­on in 1924.

Helen was an heir to the Cad­bu­ry cho­co­late for­tune.

She at­tend­ed uni­ver­si­ty and stu­died mu­sic and lang­uage in Ger­ma­ny. In 1893, she found­ed what would be­come the Pock­et Tes­ta­ment League.
