Biography

Wendy was the son of Ru­fus M. (Ca­jer) Bag­well and Ar­za (Ar­zie) Em­mer­line Vaughn.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Ma­rines, and was award­ed a Bronze Star for bra­ve­ry.

In 1953, he, Ger­al­dine Mor­ris­on and Georg­ia Jones formed the Sun­lit­ers sing­ing group. Ov­er the next four de­cades, the group re­leased 60 re­cord­ings.

Wendy was in­duct­ed in­to the South­ern Gos­pel Mu­sic As­so­cia­tion Hall of Fame in 1997, and the Gos­pel Mu­sic As­so­cia­tion Hall of Fame in 2001.
