Biography

Addison was the son of Ma­thi­as Ste­vens Bow­ser and Eli­za­beth Boo­her, and hus­band of El­la Ze­li­ma Steb­bins.

He at­tend­ed pub­lic school in Arm­strong Coun­ty, and gra­du­at­ed from Reed In­sti­tute (1884); Buck­nell Uni­ver­si­ty, Lew­is­burg, Penn­syl­van­ia (1888); and Cro­zer Se­mi­na­ry, Up­land, Penn­syl­vania (1890).

He sub­se­quent­ly served as pas­tor of the Third Bap­tist Church, Pitts­burgh, Penn­syl­van­ia (three years); the First Bap­tist Church at Dan­ville, Penn­syl­van­ia (nine years); and the First Bap­tist Church, Mill­ville, New Jer­sey (three years).

On Ju­ly 4, 1903, he be­came pas­tor of the First Bap­tist Church in Craf­ton, Penn­syl­van­ia.
