Biography

Henry was the son of Hen­ry Al­cock Bram­ley and Eli­za­beth Coop­er.

He ma­tri­cu­lat­ed at Ori­el Col­lege, Ox­ford, in 1852; was a Schol­ar of Uni­ver­si­ty Col­lege, 1853; and Fel­low of Mag­da­len Col­lege, 1857 (BA 1856, MA 1859).

Ordained an Ang­li­can dea­con in 1856 and priest in 1858, he served as vi­car of Hors­path, Ox­ford­shire (1861–89) and ca­non and pre­cen­tor of Lin­coln (1895–1905).
