Biography

Kounse was the son of Mi­chael Don­al­ly Kounse and Mar­ga­ret Ma­ry Reed.

He moved to Hin­ton, West Vir­gin­ia, around 1905, then lat­er to Hunt­ing­ton.

He was well known as a mu­sic teach­er in that re­gion.
