Biography

Charles was the son of The­o­phil­us Bak­er Stork and Han­nah Wharton, and hus­band of Elis­a­beth Von Pau­sing­er.

He gra­du­at­ed from Ha­ver­ford Col­lege and of Har­vard Uni­ver­si­ty.

As of 1909, He was an in­struct­or in the Eng­lish De­part­ment of the Uni­ver­si­ty of Penn­syl­van­ia.

He sur­vived the 1939 sink­ing of the SS Ath­en­ia by a Ger­man sub­mar­ine in the At­lan­tic Ocean.
