Turle was a chorister at Wells Cathedral under organist Dodd Perkins (July 1810–December 1813), and was articled to J. J. Goss (uncle of John Goss).
He played the organ at Christ Church, Blackfriars (1819–29); St. James, Bermondsey (1829–31); and was assistant at Westminster Abbey, serving as organist and master of the choristers (1831–75).
