Biography

Herbert was the son of Carl Wil­helm Wer­nec­ke and Ma­ria Rei­ne­king, and hus­band of Ida So­phia Bruck­schen.

He at­tend­ed the Mil­wau­kee State Teach­ers’ Col­lege, Mis­sion House (now Lake­land), South­ern Bap­tist Se­mi­na­ry, Hope Se­mi­na­ry, and Prince­ton Se­mi­na­ry.

He taught Re­li­gious Edu­ca­tion at Cen­tral Theo­lo­gic­al Se­mi­na­ry and at Eden Theo­lo­gic­al Se­mi­na­ry, Web­ster Groves, Mis­sou­ri, af­ter the two schools merged.
