Biography

Woodward attended Har­row School and Gon­ville and Cai­us Col­lege at Cam­bridge Uni­ver­si­ty (BA in ho­nors 1872, MA 1875).

Ordained in 1874, he served as cur­ate at St. Bar­na­bas, Pim­li­co (1847–82 & 1894–99); vi­car at Lit­tle Wal­sing­ham, Nor­folk (1882–88); rec­tor at Chel­mon­dis­ton, Suf­folk (1888–94); and cur­ate at St. Mark’s, Ma­ry­le­bone (1903–06).

After re­tir­ing, he moved to Blooms­bury, then High­gate in 1916.
