Lyrics

Jesus is the star of guidance
Shining bright upon our way,
Leading ever thro’ the darkness
Up to realms of endless day.
Hail, O star that shines in splendor
Thro’ the darkness of the night!
Shining o’er the fields of error,
Doubt and gloom will take their flight.

Refrain

Beautiful star, beautiful star,
Thy radiance o’er us is stealing;
Beautiful star, beautiful star,
To mortals a glory revealing.

When of old the wise men journeyed
Where the little Christ child lay,
Up in heav’n a star so wondrous
Shone to guide them on their way;
And they saw the star of glory,
Knew at once this as the sign
That to them as born a Savior,
Him of royal David’s line.

Refrain

Bearing gifts of love they follow
Till they find the Lord of all
Cradled lowly in a manger,
And before His feet they fall.
Then they worship and adore Him,
Jesus Christ the infant King;
Costly gifts of gold and incense
To His humble throne they bring.
