Lyrics

Like Noah’s dove, I found no rest
Outside the ark, unsaved, unblest,
But when away on sin’s deep sea,
A sweet voice said, Come unto Me.

Refrain

O refuge sweet, on Jesus’ breast,
In Him alone is perfect rest;
From every fear and sin set free,
Dear Savior, let me rest in Thee.

As to the ark the dove did fly
For rest and safety, so did I;
My weary soul found refuge there,
Where Jesus waits to answer prayer.

Refrain

Now safe in Him tho’ storms arise,
And darkness seems to veil the skies;
Sweet peace is mine, I trust His care
Whose mercies now enclose me there.

Refrain

Within the ark—’twere death outside—
I dwell secure, and satisfied;
My soul is safe from all alarms,
Upheld by everlasting arms.
