A Me­tho­dist min­is­ter, Cul­pep­per was the son of John But­ler Cul­pep­per and Mel­vi­na Harp­er, and hus­band of Ka­the­rine Re­gen­old (mar­ried 1900, Mem­phis, Ten­nes­see).
