Biography

Frances was the daugh­ter of George Val­en­tine Cox.

She is re­mem­bered for her trans­la­tions of Ger­man chor­ales. She col­la­bo­rat­ed with Ba­ron Charles Christ­ian von Bun­sen (1791–1860), Pruss­ian am­bas­sa­dor to Lon­don, in choos­ing ti­tles to trans­late.
