Davis traveled extensively, living at different times in Marcellus, New York; Vicksburg, Mississippi; Baltimore, Maryland; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Burr Oak and Findley, Michigan.
He taught voice and instrumental classes, had charge of choirs in various places, and sang many solos. He never married.
