Robert was the son of Harbison McNeill and Susannah Moreton, and husband of Emma A. McNeill.
He taught voice culture at Albion College, Albion, Michigan, in the late 1800’s. In February 1901, he became head of the Music Department at God’s Bible School, Cincinnati, Ohio, where he remained for the next 36 years.
He is remembered as a talented singer, pianist and organist. His portrait was hung in God’s Bible School, where the music studio was named the Robert E. McNeill Music Studio.
