Died: Sep­tem­ber 21, 1924, at his home in Nash­ville, Ten­nes­see.

Buried: Mount Hope Ce­me­te­ry, Frank­lin, Ten­nes­see.

Biography

William was the son of Pe­ter A. Dale and Ma­ry Phe­gan. He mar­ried twice, to Lu­cy J. Mar­shall (1865) and Ma­ry Ca­la­don­ia Orr (1895).

A Cum­ber­land Pres­by­ter­ian min­is­ter, he re­ceived his Ba­che­lor of Di­vi­ni­ty de­gree from Cum­ber­land Uni­ver­si­ty, Le­ba­non, Ten­nes­see, in 1876. He was or­dained by the Nash­ville Pres­by­te­ry at Frank­lin, Ten­nes­see, the next year.

Works

In ad­di­tion to his pas­tor­al du­ties, he wrote and pub­lished song books, oth­er books, and tracts.
