Biography

John was the fa­ther of theo­lo­gian Lynn Al­ton de Sil­va (1919–1982).

John be­longed to the Wes­ley­an Me­tho­dist Church of Cey­lon (now Sri Lan­ka).

His works in­clude a re­vi­sion of Ni­chol­son’s Eng­lish-Sin­hal­ese Dic­tion­ary, is­sued in 1895.
